Vintage 50s 60s Dress Top Skirt Teena Paige Chevron Stripe New Old Stock M
Teena Paige was an upscale maker of junior fashions, very popular in the 50s. This striking vintage 1950s set is a great example of their casualwear. The pieces look wonderful together, but each can be worn with so many other top and bottoms in your closet!
The top is styled with wide saddleback style raglan sleeves, 3/4 length and cuffed. The bodice has a squared neckline and gently curving sideseams – the perfectly matched chevron pattern is so figure flattering. A narrow self fabric sash can be tied at the waist.
The skirt is A-line, simply styled with the fabric vertically positioned -this time the perfect chevron pattern is along the sideseams.
Labeled 11, but vintage sizes are misleading, so please consider the measurements
|Top: Bottom hem circumference||41"||104|
The fabric is medium weight, feels like cotton homespun, but is proudly labeled as “100% Dacron Polyester”. Woven (and sometimes textured) stripes of varying widths are done in black, white, shades of red and pink, with a bit of green and blue.
Teena Paige Fashions. Cardboard hangtag says “As seen in Leading Fashion Magazines”. Original price tag was $32, which would translate to more than $200 in today’s dollars.
The blouse closes with a long metal zipper down the back. The skirt has a sideseam metal zipper and clear plastic button at the waist.
New Old Stock, never worn, no issues seen.
