Molly Parnis 70s Vintage Chic Day Dress Mod Office M Saks
Not every fashionista was edgy enough to wear extreme Mod styles - Mollie Parnis designed for First Ladies and other more mature women who wanted a more conservative version of the look! This vintage 1970s Parnis dress features a lean A-line silhouette with princess seaming. The skirt has a deep inset pleat in the front center for extra ease. The deep squared-off U-neckline is perfect for showing off your favorite scarf, as seen in one photo. The dress is fully lined.
Medium weight fabric with the look of hopsacking, but not scratchy - based on fiber burn testing, I think it's probably a rayon/acetate blend. The lining feels a little silky, either rayon or rayon/cotton blend. The color is tobacco brown.
Mollie Parnis Boutique, New York. A label in the sideseam of the skirt for Saks Fifth Avenue, Fifth Avenue Shop, and an ILGWU tag of the type that was used beginning in 1974.
Nylon zipper in back.
No stains, holes, tears or other issues noted. The scarf shown in one of the photos is not included with purchase.
