Such a pretty romantic dress! In addition to just being a lovely vintage piece, it could also work as a renaissance type costume. The entire front of the empire waisted bodice is ruched for a softly elegant look; it is not elasticized, but fitted with darts so the measurements are fixed. The neckline is enhanced with a small stand-up ruffle. The cuffs of the long sleeves are also ruched, ending in a soft ruffle. The long skirt is flat over the front, with soft gathers on the sides and in back. A satin ribbon sets off the raised waist, with a flat bow and streamers in back.

Good to very good. The fabric in the armpits has turned reddish, but it’s only visible from the inside of the garment; the plushy velvet doesn’t look any different in the armpit area on the outside of the dress. See close-ups for pics of outside and inside armpit.
