This is a super coat for winter style! I would place this as late 50s. The coat has straight lines, bracelet length raglan sleeves, slanted slash welt pockets, and is double breasted. The notched faux fur collar is toffee brown, and provides a wonderful accent. It looks and feels so real, I had to check several times to satisfy myself about its origins. The coat was shortened by about 3 ½" at some point; there is a 6" hem in both the tweed and the lining that could be let back down if desired. |

Very good. The armpit area of the lining is a bit frayed and torn on both sides; the right side is the worst, with a total of about 3" torn. It wouldn’t be difficult to hand stitch, but if you leave it as-is, it won’t interfere with wear or show when it’s worn. The lower edge of the fur collar is a bit worn on the back of the coat, but not enough to expose the underlying fabric that it’s woven on. I don’t see any other problems. |
