Such a discreet yet sexy dress, with the unexpected luxury of fur! Fitted bodice with unique angled "tucks" that are more like open darts - they go from the bust area to the center front waistband. They are set off by two pair of flat satin covered buttons sewn onto non-functional bound satin buttonholes. I think a bullet bra would be the ideal undergarment for this! The elbow length sleeves are modified raglan style. The wide neckline and the sleeve bottoms are trimmed in luxurious fur. The straight skirt is fitted with small soft pleats in front and darting in back, has a rear kick pleat. |

Fabric/Colors |
Medium weight black fabric, looks like a wool blend. The fur trim is dark brown, with glossy guard hairs and and soft undercoat. I think it is most likely mink, but I am not a fur expert. |
Tag |
No tags at all, although this looks professionally made. |
Closures |
Metal zipper in back. |
Condition |
Very good to excellent. I don't see any stains, holes or tears. The fur is supple and I don't get any shed when I gently pull on the fur. The only issue I need to mention is that it looks like there may have been a period repair to a 1/2 x 1" area of fabric under the right arm. The weave looks a little different and feels a little denser there, so I am thinking it may have been rewoven, although it was so well done I am not completely sure. Fabric feels normal strength there, and looks normal too except on very close inspection |
