A fantastic 1940s classic men's suit in near perfect condition! This suit has it all! The jacket has padded shoulders, wide notched lapels, fitted through the trunk, three outside pockets and one inner one. It's partially lined, seams that are visible are bound with lining fabric, no rear vent. Sleeve cuffs are trimmed with rows of decorative matching buttons. The pants have a double pleated front, and cuffs. There are belt loops and inner buttons for suspenders if desired. Five pockets, one in each sideseam, two besom pockets in back (one with a button tab) and one set into the right waistband. The shirt and tie shown with the suit are for illustrative purposes only and are not included with purchase. |

Size:No size label. Total seam allowance at the back of the pants waist is 2.25", meaning a tailor could easily let them out about an inch.

Fabric/Colors |
Wool worsted in a herringbone weave. The color is a subtle blend of light brown and gray, very versatile! |

Closures |
The jacket has a double breasted closure, with six visible buttons, closes with two of them, with buttonholes for two more inside. The pants have a Conmar metal zipper and Dot Snappers dark metal snap at the waist. |
Condition |
Very good. I see a single tiny surface nip in the fabric of the jacket front on the right side above the upper functional button, covered by left side of the jacket when buttoned - see close-up. One of the two inner jacket buttons is missing, and the other is positioned oddly - I suspect a former owner tried to tweak the fit by moving buttons. The pics were taken with only the visible buttons fastened. I am leaving this very simple fix to the new owner so they can be sure of a perfect fit. I will include a replacement button of the correct size - it won't match, but it also won't show. No other issues seen - no stains, tears, odors. |
