40s Vintage Bias Cut Gown & Robe Peignor Eyelet Trim M

$ 135.00

What a lovely negligee set! The nightgown has a wrap front with plunging neckline, shirring at the straps and waist in front for soft fullness. Front straps and inset front waistband panel are peekaboo oversize eyelet. The slim skirt is bias cut, so flattering. The robe has short sleeves that are slightly puffed at the shoulders. The front bodice is again shirred at shoulders and waist, and the skirt is lightly gathered. The inset eyelet forms the waistband and edges the open-to-the waist neckline. The skirt is also completely open below the waist.

Fabric/Colors

Silky rayon with a dry hand, in a sweet retro print of small bouquets of trumpet shaped flowers that look a bit like petunias or morning glories scattered on a light peach background. The colors in the posies are shades of darker pink with muted blue and green. The eyelet trim feels cottony and is icy pale blue.

Closures

The nightgown pulls on over the head. The robe closes with three small white plastic buttons and elastic loops at the waist band.

Condition

Very good to excellent. I find three pinholes on the bodice of the robe and two pinholes on the back upper skirt of the gown. No stains or tear or other issues seen.
